Boys JV devastates Wilton

West Branch High School’s junior varsity boys basketball team disabled the visiting Wilton Beavers, 48-12 on Nov. 28 to open the season.


The Bears only allowed Wilton to score two free-throws in the first half, leading 32-2 after two quarters.

Scoring: Ben Kyllingstad 5 3-4 13; Zach Thompson 4 1-2 9; Trey Eagle 2 2-2 7; Matt Whaley 0 1-2 1; Atlas Kolpin 1 0-0 2; Matt Paulsen 1 1-2 3; Kelby Burger 0 2-2 2; Marcus Gould 2 0-0 4; Jeff Bowie 3 1-4 7. Team totals: 18 11-18 48.

The team shot 45 percent from the field, 51.5 percent from two-point range and 14.3 percent from three-point range. The Bears also shot 61.1 percent from the free-throw line. West Branch had 31 rebounds, 5 assists, 12 steals, a block, 6 turnovers and 6 personal fouls.
