Bears overcome Comets’ heat

West Liberty proved a strong defensive opponent to open the varsity football season, forcing the Bears to resort to field goals when the Comet defense locked down the line of scrimmage on key downs.
But West Branch kept pressing through, bit by bit, though it was not until late in the second half the Bears secured a bit of breathing room and, finally, a 27-13 win over its host.
