Absentee voting starts Sept. 29

Absentee ballots are now available for the General Election to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8.


Request absentee ballots by contacting the Cedar County Auditor at www.cedarcounty.org or 400 Cedar Street, Tipton, IA 52772 and include the voter’s name, date of birth, signature, the address at which the voter is registered to vote, the name or date of the election, and the address to which the ballot should be sent if different from the registration address.

Voters may designate any person of their choice to deliver their voted absentee ballot to the County Auditor. Voters still have the option of mailing the ballot, postage is prepaid. To be counted, ballots delivered by mail must be postmarked no later than midnight, Nov. 7, and received no later than noon on Nov. 14. Hand-delivered ballots must reach the Auditor’s Office no later than 9 p.m. (closing time of the polls) on Election Day, Nov. 8.
