Pearle B. Minor, 93, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.

Memorial services are planned to be held in the spring of 2016. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge of arrangements. Inurnment will be in the North Prairie Cemetery, West Liberty. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com.

Pearle was born Jan. 16, 1922, in Cedar County, Iowa, the daughter of Harry L. and Erna (Jehle) Schooley. She attended West Liberty Schools and several short-course accounting schools. Her career as a bookkeeper spanned 35 years, with the first five years of her employment spent in Iowa City. She moved to West Liberty in 1947. On Dec. 30, 1956, she was united in marriage to Rex S. Minor, and lived in the home where she was born until 1999. She then moved to West Liberty.

She was very active in community affairs, including the Cedar County Farm Bureau and First Church United of West Liberty, and was a dedicated volunteer at Simpson Memorial Home. Many hours of piano music were enjoyed by the residents when Pearle came to play. Her most important activity was caring for her parents at Simpson as her mother lived into her late 90’s and her father was over 100.

She is survived by son Harry Lee Rogers of Dearborn, Mich.; stepson Kenneth (Linda) Minor of West Liberty; grandsons Harry Robert (Carissa) Rogers of Lancaster, Mo., Kevin Minor of West Liberty and Chad Eric (Amanda) Minor of Houston, Texas; great-grandchildren Erin Rogers, Jaci Rogers, Shania Minor and Kurtis Minor; and a special friend, Ed Holst of Wilton.
