Iowa State Patrol officers inspected the rear of a car Sept. 4 on Interstate 80 about a quarter mile west of the West Liberty exit after a single-vehicle crash, assessing the damage.

West Branch Fire Chief Kevin Stoolman said one person received minor injuries when a flatbed truck carrying farm equipment rear-ended the sedan about 9:40 a.m. around the 259 milemarker.

West Liberty Ambulance took the victim to an area hospital.

Stoolman said the two vehicles were traveling westbound when traffic began to slow down for some reason and the truck ran into the back of the car.
