Letter: Grassley push suggests he’s facing pressure
Op-Ed · April 02, 2025

Is very sad to see Sen. Charles Grassley, who was once known as a reasonable man, leading the charge against our nation’s Judicial Branch so that the Executive Branch may take total, unchecked control of our government.

In all his years, could he have imagined he’d use his power to kill American democracy?

Dear senator, you called the courts’ checks on the Executive Branch “unconstitutional.”

You should be ashamed. You know the courts, not you, are the final arbiter of whether anyone is violating our Constitution.

Our courts are our last hope of nonpartisan, lifetime-appointed defense of the very document this country was founded upon.

We need them now more than ever.

We must ask why our 91-year-old senator is goosestepping to this president when he used to have his own mind.

He has nothing to lose … unless he’s been threatened with a primary against his heir-apparent grandson. Hmm.

This is what happens when the richest man in the world can throw a quarter BILLION dollars — and the expertise to hack voting machines if he chooses to employ it — at a presidential race.

When will Sen. Grassley call out Elon Musk’s unelected, unvetted role in all of this instead of performing a witch hunt among legitimate judges?
