The Bears took home second place last week in the Wilton Conference on Friday, May 2, falling behind host Wilton 85 – 134. The West Branch boys moved up from their previous meet on April 30, ranking fourth at the Pacha Relays with 84 points.

The West Branch girls took home a victory last week, finishing out first in the Wilton Co-Ed in Durant. The Bears earned 137 points in May 2 meet, placing them ahead of Durant-Bennett and Wilton.

Rain and cold weather put the kibosh on two outings this past week, but the girls varsity golf team managed to squeeze in one tournament and take home a second-place finish.

Dlhy in top 10 at Drake

The West Branch girls finished out in the top ten at the Drake Relays, represented in the event by senior Brittney Dlhy. Dlhy finished seventh in the 4x800 Relay last Saturday, closing the race with a time of 2:18.40.

Boys track team 3rd at Elkstrand

The Bears returned home last Thursday with a third place ranking in the Ekstrand Relays, finishing just behind Wayco and overall winner Winfield – Mount Union. The West Branch boys finished with total score of 88 points and medaled in the 400 meter hurdle, 400 meter dash, and 300 meter dash.
