Girl, 10, wields hatchet at boy, 6 News · October 18, 2013
West Branch Police received a complaint that a 10-year-old girl held up a hatchet and made a threatening statement to a 6-year-old boy, startling him, Oct. 1 on a playground at West Branch Village.
Police Chief Mike Horihan said that while the department is taking the complaint seriously, the girl does not have a history of causing trouble.
No adults witnessed the incident, he said; both children and others at the playground were interviewed, with parental consent, by police, Horihan said. Both the mobile home park management and West Branch Schools have been notified about the incident.
