Dale Alvin Foster Jr., 80, died Saturday May 18, 2013, at All American Care Center in Muscatine.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday 22, 2013, at the Church of Christ in Muscatine. Visitation was Tuesday at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Liberty. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com. A memorial fund has been established.
Dale was born April 14, 1933, on the family farm near West Liberty the son of Dale Kermit and Ruth Pricilla (Smith) Foster. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Army. On Sept. 14, 1957, he was united in marriage to Illa Reid, they later divorced. On Sept. 11, 1989, he was united in marriage to Barbara Allenbaugh in Hannibal, Missouri.
He had worked as a Union painter for several years before becoming a Union Electrician at John Deere in East Moline where he worked until his retirement. He was a member of the Muscatine Church of Christ. Enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles, the outdoors taking trips and was always ready to help his family and friends with anything they needed.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Muscatine; two children: Lori Becker of Rock Hill, S.C., and David Foster of Muscatine; six grandchildren: Sarah Foster, Benjamin Voltz, Tracy Foster, Matt Voltz, Kaitlyn Foster and Becky Voltz; six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Darlene Smith of Muscatine and Mary Harris of Wilton; two brothers: John Kenneth Foster and his significant other, Aledain Mohr, of Muscatine and Edwin (Connie) Foster of Muscatine; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ron and brother-in-law Phil Harris.
