Kirkwood Community College announced scholarship awards for the upcoming academic year. Recent Kirkwood scholarship winners from this area include two from West Branch:
• Jamie Tucker was awarded the Transamerica Endowed Scholarship in the amount of $650, the Charlotte Larson Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $200, the Bernice Hayslett Peterson Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $200, and the Kirkwood Community College VITAL Scholarship. Tucker is a graduate of West Branch High School and is the daughter of Greg and Faye Tucker. This scholarship will support her studies in the Graphic Communication program.
• Jessica Zmolek was awarded the Paul and Becky Shawver Area of Greatest Need Endowed Scholarship in the amount of $987.50. Zmolek is a graduate of West Branch High School and is the daughter of Leroy Zmolek and Laura Buck. This scholarship will support her studies in the Agriculture Transfer program.
