Lois H. Seger, 86, of Suffield, Conn., beloved wife of the late Robert F. Seger, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013.

She was born Nov. 25, 1926, in Oostburg, Wis., daughter of the late Harold and Lena (TeSelle) Bruggink.

She lived in Sheboygan, Wis., Minneapolis, Minn., and West Branch and Tipton, Iowa, before moving to Suffield in 2009 to be closer to her family. 

She worked as secretary at the University of Iowa, College of Nursing for many years before her retirement.

Lois was a lifelong member of Gibbsville Reform Church in Gibbsville, Wis., in Connecticut, she attended Truth Baptist Church in South Windsor. Lois was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a NARFE member as well as a Republican delegate for President Ronald Reagan. She enjoyed oil painting during her free time.

She is survived by her three sons, Robert L. Seger of Suffield, Conn., Randolph J. Seger and his wife, Malinda, of Spring, Texas, and Jeffrey P. Seger of East Granby, Conn.; her daughter, Laura Bub, and her husband, David, of East Granby, Conn.; her sister, Elaine Richardson of Sheboygan Falls, Wis.; five grandchildren, Matthew Bub and his wife, Elizabeth, Russell Bub, Dana Seger, Richard and Erich Seger; and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Owen Bruggink.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Truth Baptist Church, 60 Burnham St., South Windsor. Burial was in Gibbsville Cemetery at the convenience of her family. Her family received friends Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. (Rt. 159), Suffield, Conn.
