Myles Douglas Cook, 18, of Nichols died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at his home. Funeral service were Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at the West Liberty Community Center, 1204 North Calhoun Street.
Visitation was Sunday at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com. A memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Iowa City Hospice for the care given to Myles.

Myles was born Oct. 19, 1994, in Savannah, Ga., the son of Mark and Glenda Thompson Cook. He was a graduate of West Liberty High School.

He loved his friends and family. Myles enjoyed playing video games, watching movies, listening to music, drawing, traveling, fishing and his dog Sammy. He was curious and full of knowledge. He didnít like to be asked questions although he asked many.

Survivors include his parents, Mark and Glenda Cook of Nichols; brothers Maxx Cook and Mariah Havel of Cedar Falls; sister Makenna Cook of Nichols; paternal grandmother Marilyn Cook of West Branch; maternal grandparents Victor Thompson of Muscatine and Marjorie Morris of Lone Tree; uncles Mike (Laura) Cook of West Branch and Marv (Tracy) Cook of Iowa City; and aunts Kerri (Larry) Sexton of Lone Tree and Vicki (Larry) Ball of North Carolina.

Also surviving are his cousins, friends and the many lives he touched at school.
