Live Healthy Iowa stops in West Branch to talk about obesity in school children News · December 07, 2012
On Thursday, Dec. 6, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., the West Branch Community School District will host a Live Healthy Iowa presentation and discussion.
The meeting will take place in the Hoover Elementary School Library located at 148 North Oliphant Street, in West Branch. Please use the lobby/gym entry at the north end of the school at the flag pole.
Our featured speaker will be John Stevens. As the outreach coordinator, Stevens promotes and encourages Iowa communities (and school) to engage in wellness activities and initiatives.
Cedar County Public Health’s Kasey Diebold said the meeting will focus on obesity, how wellness coalitions can be useful for addressing health issues and the process for establishing a coalition.
Stevens’ past has given him the knowledge and experience to provide Iowa communities with great health and wellness resources as well as link them with a program that is designed to promote positive lifestyle change.
