Time capsule still hidden News · September 14, 2012
According to a West Branch Times photograph published on Sept. 24, 1987, Hoover Elementary pupils and staff buried a time capsule on Sept. 17, 1987, some 25 years ago.
The capsule was scheduled to be opened 25 years later, on Sept. 17, 2012.
Today, those pupils are around 30 to 36 years old. However, the playground where the capsule was buried has undergone landscaping changes and school officials are unclear where the time capsule is buried.
Fifth-grade teacher Jacqui Hart said all that was left behind was a map, drawn by a pupil at the time, which may use landmarks that no longer exist.
Anyone who knows where the time capsule is buried may contact Hoover Elementary at 319-643-7211. |
