Letter: ‘Borrowed’ cow made memories for 32 years Op-Ed · August 10, 2012
On July 26, someone borrowed my concrete baby cow from in front of my home on American Legion Road.
It was taken in the morning in broad daylight.
I have had the brown-and-white calf that weighs 75 pounds for 32 years. I dress it up for each season of the year with a winter hat and scarf, or sunglasses and sun hat for warm weather.
It is just the right size for small children to sit on and imagine riding the calf as a toddler. Now I have twin granddaughters that go straight to the calf when they visit. The calf has meant a lot to me and my family for all of those years.
