Movie nights begin at Hoover L-M News · July 18, 2012
The Hoover Presidential Museum will stay open late on Wednesday evenings from July 11 through Aug. 15 for Family Nights, with free admission from 5 to 8 pm.
“This is a way to say thank you to our many Iowa friends and families,” notes Public Affairs Specialist Janlyn Slach. “We want everyone to have an opportunity to see the treasures in their own state.”
For six Wednesday evenings, visitors will have the opportunity to see the permanent galleries that document the life and times of Herbert Hoover and also to tour the museum’s current special exhibit, “Celebrating 50 Years at the Hoover Museum.”
Each of these Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m., a different blockbuster movie from the year 1962 will be shown in the Hoover Auditorium: July 11 — Dr. No; July 18 — To Kill a Mockingbird; July 25 — The Miracle Worker; Aug. 1 — The Music Man; Aug. 8 — The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance; and Aug. 15 — State Fair
For more information, you may contact the Hoover Museum at 319-643-5301 or visit www.hoover.archives.gov.
Join us as we celebrate 50 years – see the current temporary exhibit commemorating our anniversary and enjoy a movie from 50 years ago! Stay cool, enjoy a movie and some popcorn and see the exhibits – all for free.
We will be collecting items for the West Branch Food Pantry on these Wednesday evenings.
