Springdale hosts ‘Hollywood Cowboys’
News · April 13, 2011

Springdale United Methodist Church has received funding from Humanities Iowa, a private, non-profit state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, to host “Hollywood Cowboys,” a presentation by Martin Kelly at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 1 in the church sanctuary.

Kelly will take a journey down memory lane — with tales of heroes, villains, stuntmen, and the many characters that portrayed the pioneer days — in movies and on television.

The program is free and open to the public. Those with disabilities who require assistance, may call Deborah Schoenfelder at 319-354-5271 in advance.

A cultural resource for Iowans since 1971, Humanities Iowa offers many cultural and historical programs and grants to Iowa’s communities. This program is also funded, in part, by a grant from the Iowa Community Cultural Grant program administered by the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs.
