Speaking Volumes: Plenty of free activities indoors as weather cools by Nick Shimmin, WB Public Library · Op-Ed · November 18, 2009
As the weather turns colder, the library can help with those long months huddled inside without costing you a dime.
We can, of course, provide a nice quiet night at home with one of our many books, movies, CDs, or board games to suit almost any age and interest.
If you’re looking for a chance to get out of the house, you may want to consider one of our many programs.
For a quick sample of our programs, we have Pajama Storytimes every Tuesday for those with younger kids.
We also have a Family Movie Night once a month, featuring movies that are entertaining for all ages. For an adult’s night out, consider joining us for Trivia Night (there is a fee with this) coming up again at the beginning of the new year. For our full program calendar, check out our Web site at: www.westbranch.lib.ia.us.
Now for a few recent additions to our collection:
New Books (Adults): “13 ½” by Nevada Barr; “The Christmas List” by Richard Paul Evans; “Highest Duty” by Sulley Sullenberger; “Nine Dragons” by Michael Connelly; “The Scarpetta Factor” by Patricia Cornwell.
