Swimmers fall in two duals

City High’s girls swimmers fell to Wahlert 114.5 to 71.5 and got edged out by Linn-Mar 94-92 in a triangular Oct. 3.
West Branch’s Lauren Whaley competed in four events.
In the 200-yard medley relay, City High’s varsity ran three squads, finishing third, ninth and 10th. Whaley was part of the ninth-place squad, which finished with 2:13.4, and Whaley swam her lap in 29.35 seconds.
In the 200-yard freestyle, Whaley finished seventh with 2:18.96.
In the 100-yard freestyle, Whaley finished seventh with 1:01.58.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, City High put forth three squads, finishing third, sixth and eight. Whaley was part of the sixth-place squad, which finished with 1:58.42 overall. Whaley swam her lap in 29.23 seconds.
