Letter: Patronizing mockery in Times editorial Op-Ed · September 28, 2017
RE: Bridging the School Divide, published on Sept. 21: It is one thing to voice one’s own opinion, another entirely to presume to articulate that of another, most especially using the pronoun “we.”
The former rightfully belongs on the editorial page of a newspaper; the latter is complete fiction which, in this case, is such patronizing mockery it belongs nowhere except perhaps on the bottom of a bird cage.
I am disappointed the Times did not know to pass on this astonishingly epic example of both non-journalism and non-ethnography.
Sincerely,
Jennie Embree
