Nadine Kochinski, 95, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Crestview Specialty Care Center in West Branch.

Private family memorial service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Traverse City, Mich., with family inurnment in the Oakwood Catholic Cemetery in Traverse City. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.

Nadine was born July 29, 1921, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Orville and Treva (Leach) Wallace.

She was a graduate of Elk Rapids High School, where she was the salutatorian, and later attended business school. On Oct. 14, 1943, she was united in marriage to Robert James Kochinski; he passed away May 24, 1964. Nadine had worked as a loan officer at Bank of America for over 30 years in Oxnard, Calif.

She was a member of Santa Clara Catholic Church in Oxnard, Calif., and St. Rose of Lima Paso Robles, Calif. Mom was a devoted Catholic, a lover of road trips, especially with son Bob as chauffeur, a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, a teacher of English as a second language, an avid gardener, a thrift shop lover, a yummy baker, a terrific interior decorator/homemaker and was truly a sweetheart of a mom and grandmother.

She is lovingly survived by her children: Robert Kochinski of Albion, Mich., and Barbara (Pete) Kennedy of Iowa City, Iowa; brother Ron (Karen) Barnes of Fife Lake, Mich.; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
