Frances V. Milder, 97, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.
Memorial mass was Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Liberty. A memorial visitation was Sunday at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Inurnment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Nichols. A memorial fund has been established.
Frances was born May 10, 1919, near Iowa City, the daughter of John T. and Mary (Eisenhofer) Maier. On Aug. 29, 1939, she was united in marriage Robert Milder in Iowa City. She and Bob farmed in the Cedar County area for many years, retiring in 1982 and moving into West Liberty in 1986. For many years, they wintered in Mesa, Ariz.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and North Prairie Social Club, and the West Liberty Fair home-making exhibits committee. Frances enjoyed cooking, sewing and giving to others.
She is survived by a daughter: Beverly (George) Garry of Minneapolis, Minn.; two sons: Richard (Linda) Milder of Green Valley, Ariz., and Dale Heath of West Liberty; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and two brothers.
