An 86-year-old West Branch man received no injuries when his car crashed into the side of Staker Health Center on July 14.

West Branch Police Department reported that Thomas Robert Sexton apparently fainted while driving south on North Fourth Street about 5:35 p.m. July 14 near Main Street.

This caused his 1996 Chevrolet to drive over the west curb, roll down a hill, strike a tree, then strike a radiator to a generator, and finally came to rest against the east side of the Staker building, read a WBPD report.

The vehicle received about $10,000 worth of damage and is considered a total loss, while the Staker building received about $15,000 worth of damage. The radiator, part of a generator fan, received about $5,000 in damage and is owned by Plato Electric.
