Anthony “Andy” Duane McClure, 77, of West Branch, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at Mercy Hospital.

There was a Celebration of Life gathering at the Tipton V.F.W. on Saturday, Jan. 16. Inurnment will be held at a later date. A memorial fund in Andy’s honor has been established. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com.

On Sept. 5, 1938, Andy was born to Cecil and LaFleata (Fuller) McClure. After graduating high school, Andy served his country in the U.S. Navy between the times of the Korean War and Vietnam. In April 1962, Andy married the late Sharon Kay Fitch and then began his career as a mechanical technician. He was employed with Oral B in Iowa City for several years before retirement. Andy was a man who was not only dedicated to his work as an employee, but also a dedicated husband and dad. Fishing and snowmobiling with his grandsons and his son, Kevin, always brought him great pleasure. He was also a past member of the Masonic Lodge and Moose Lodge in Iowa City.

Andy is survived by his son, Kevin (Burgundie) McClure; grandsons Zachary Thompson and Jacobi McClure; brothers Jim (Sheryl) Wardlaw, Ray (Peggy) Wardlaw, Len (Cindy) Wardlaw, Allen (Bonnie) Evans and Alvin McClure.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Sharon.
