Speaking Volumes: New furniture, reworked space for more open, inviting library
Op-Ed · November 05, 2015

The West Branch Public Library would like to invite you to see the new library space on Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 6-8 p.m.

The library has been working over the past six months to reorganize the library spaces to make them feel more open and inviting, while providing new seating and furniture. It’s a new feel — same building.

In the adult area, we’ve been creating a new seating area with improved magazine and newspaper browsing storage. We’ll have new, comfy chairs for seating and stands for using laptops.

In the youth area, we’ll have new seating for both children and teens. The teens will have seating similar to the adults with new, comfortable chairs with laptop stands. In the children’s area, the shelves will be reorganized to have a more open feel, splitting the youth shelving into halves. We have all new chairs for the tables and some fun, rearrangeable, padded benches and bean bag chairs.

In all, we hope you’ll enjoy the new spaces and will come by to get a look at all of them.

The event coincides with Pajama Storytime at 7 pm, too, so if you’ve never been or it’s been a while, stick around for a bedtime story.

Now, a few recent additions to our collection:

Children’s & Young Adult: “From Apple Trees to Cider, Please!” by Felicia Chernesky; “Hamster Holmes” by Albin Sadar; “T. Rex Trick or Treats” by Lois Grambling; “Wee Witches Halloween” by Jerry Smath.
