Arlene Marie Schutte, 62, of Ashton was born Feb. 27, 1953, and died Sept. 16, 2015.
Arlene was born in Dixon, Ill., to Adam and Bertha Gleim. She was enjoying a vacation with her husband when she passed away suddenly and joined the Lord from a hospital in Billings, Mont.
Arlene was united in marriage with Dale Robert Schutte on April 22nd, 1972, in Ashton, Ill.
Arlene enjoyed gardening, canning and spending time with family and friends. She was very active in her church and participated in the church choir. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crocheting, listening to Elvis music and taking care of her family.
Arlene will always be remembered for her wonderful smile and giggle.
Arlene will be missed by her loving husband, Dale Schutte; son Chad (Tracy) Schutte of West Branch, Iowa; daughters Amy (Steve) Wilcox of Franklin Grove, Ill., Tammy (Jason) Norman of Amboy, Ill. She will watch over her nine grandchildren: Taylor, Travis, Trey, Trenton, Haleigh, Kara, Ashley, Austin and Autumn. Other survivors include her mother, Bertha Gleim; siblings Carolyn (Kurt) Altenburg, Paul (Linda) Erisman, Joanne (Jack) Bott; and several nieces and nephews.
Arlene is reunited in Heaven with her father, Adam Gleim; her twin infant sons, Allen John and Brian Wade; and her sister, Barb Erisman.
Services for Arlene begin with a visitation on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Beverage Family Funeral Home, 601 Richardson Ave in Ashton, Ill. The funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ashton, Ill. Burial will be in Ashton Cemetery.
Pall Bearers include Ron Mahaffey, Ron Colby, Lance Schutte, Quentin Schutte, Kellie Schutte and John Martinez.
Luncheon to follow the burial at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
