Donald Cook, 85, of Iowa City, passed away Sunday Aug. 2, 2015, at Mercy Hospital.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City in the Kirkwood Room.
Donald Cook was born April 28, 1930, in Fairfield, Iowa, the son of Wilbur and Marguerite Cook.
He attended Fairfield High School. Donald served in the Korean War from 1951-1953 with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was united in marriage to Janet Laughlin on July 1st, 1979. Donald made a career of driving a transport for well over 50 years of his life. He was an avid canine lover and loved to collect and tinker on old automobiles.
Donald is survived by son Darren Cook of Iowa City; brother Bill Cook of Burlington; brother Larry Cook of Fairfield and several nieces and nephews.
Donald is proceeded in death by his wife Janet Cook and his parents.
