Letter: Hey, Taylor: Perhaps God wants earplugs

News coming out of Des Moines in coverage of the operations of the current Iowa House of Representatives recently consisted of a report and an accompanying photo of one of its sessions opening with a Wiccan prayer.
In the photo Rep. Rob Taylor, R-West Des Moines, is pictured as having turned his back on the lady delivering the supplication and later explained his apparent gesture in favor to the public good to have been issued in protest.
From the photo it does not appear that Taylor had placed his hands over his ears to blot out hearing her words, and it prompts one to wonder if the pious politician might instead have brought ear plugs into the chamber and implanted them in his head to personally distance himself from the blasphemy, and if he had also thoughtfully sent a pair of plugs up to God?
