Gingerich trial nears

A pretrial conference is set for a man accused of stealing nearly $8,000 from his father's West Branch repair shop.


Cedar County Judge Stuart Werling set the conference for 9 a.m. Jan. 30 for Timothy Gingerich, 26, of West Branch, who faces 28 counts of forgery, one count of second-degree theft and one count of stealing the identity of his father, Virgil Gingerich, who owns Virgil's Repair Service, 607 North Fourth Street.

Timothy Gingerich pleaded not guilty on Nov. 21.

He posted 10 percent of his $10,000 bond on Oct. 31 and was released from the Cedar County Jail.
