Goldie M. Hayes, 93, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at the West Liberty United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Liberty. Goldie was born Dec. 13, 1920, in Macon County, Mo., the daughter of Robert F. and Jesse Blankenship Connor. She was united in marriage to Eldon F. Hayes on Aug. 3, 1945, in Berlin, Md. They moved to Iowa in 1972 after living in Wisconsin for many years. Goldie was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Hayes of West Liberty; a granddaughter, Christina Hines, and great-grandchildren Mayson Connor O’Malley and Mikayla Lynnae Simmons, all of Lewistown, Mo.; and a sister, Cordelia Connor, of Portage, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Eldon.
